External Affairs Minister Jaishankar targeted China and Pakistan in the United Nations General Assembly Said, terrorism cannot be justified under any circumstances


New York, (25 September).  In the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar made a veiled attack on China and Pakistan over terrorism, saying that countries defending terrorists declared in the United Nations neither their interests nor their reputation.  Keeping this in mind.  He said that any remark, no matter what the motive, can never cover up blood stains.


Addressing a high-level session of the UN General Assembly here, Jaishankar said India's neighbors politicize the UNSC 1267 sanctions regime to the extent of defending declared terrorists.  The External Affairs Minister said that India, which has been bearing the brunt of cross-border terrorism for decades, strongly advocates the approach of zero tolerance.  In our view no act of terrorism can be justified at all.


Russia supports permanent membership of India and Brazil


Russia has backed India and Brazil, calling them eligible candidates for permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).  Russia has described both the countries as important international characters.  At the 77th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Saturday expressed support for India's name for the membership of the Security Council.


Discussion on various issues with Lavrov



Describing Russia as an important partner in many fields, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that his discussions with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov focused on bilateral cooperation as well as the Ukraine conflict.  Jaishankar said, we discussed many issues.  Part of my meeting with him was focused on bilateral cooperation, as Russia is our key partner in many areas.  The External Affairs Minister gave this answer in a conversation with Indian reporters in New York.


Ukraine conflict and global challenges with Antonio Guterres


Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met UN Security Council Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Saturday. During this meeting, global challenges including the Russo-Ukraine War were discussed. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that many issues were discussed with Antonio Guterres. The External Affairs Minister is on a 10-day visit to the US.


 Earlier he met Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Meki, Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Saudi Arabian counterpart Faisal bin Farhan and UN Development Program Administrator Achim Steiner. S Jaishankar said in a tweet that there was a long discussion on global challenges with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The issues of Ukraine conflict, UN reform, G-20, climate action, food security and development were raised during the meeting.
